Marriage Information
Couples who intend to be married in Will County, IL may obtain a marriage license at the offices of DuPage Township. A license is not good the day it is obtained, but is good the next day and for sixty days following issuance. To obtain a license, both parties must be present and the process takes approximately 20 – 30 minutes. Both parties must be 18 years old. Persons 16 or 17 years old may obtain a license with the consent of both parents.

Required documentation for both parties:
Certified copy of birth certificate
AND One of the following:
Drivers license
Baptismal certificate
School record
Draft card
FOID card
Military i.d.
Passport
Previous Marriage?
Persons who have been married before must show proof of dissolution of marriage by providing a certified copy of the divorce decree or death certificate, whichever is applicable.
Fees:
$23 for the license
$9 for the first certified copy purchased the same day
$4 for each additional certified copy purchased the same day
