Highway Department
MISSION STATEMENT
We will continually strive to maintain clean safe, hazard free roadways while working to provide the highest level of services for the lowest cost to our taxpayers. We recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset in the delivery of these promises to the taxpayers and motorists that place their trust and well-being in us.
DEPARTMENT SERVICES
- Plow snow and spread ice control on all township roads in an environmentally safe manner
- Maintain, patch and repair township roads, shoulders and ditches
- Resurface township roads
- Mow along township right-of-way
- Maintain culverts along township roads
- Maintain, repair and replace informational and regulatory signs and posts
- Save taxpayers money with intergovernmental agreements
- Sweep up loose gravel and debris on township roads as well as the removal of dead animals in the public right-of-way
- Issue permits for installation of driveways and culverts, and control of overweight vehicles
- Trim and remove trees and branches that interfere with safe vehicle operation and/or visibility
OUR STAFF
Our staff consists of highly skilled and trained part-time employees that work throughout the year and additional employees on call for emergency and major weather events. Our staff has been IDOT trained and have certifications from FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security.
